Job summary

Chainguard is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for Customer Platform. You will own end-to-end backend features, design scalable Go services, and interface with multiple teams to deliver integrated API and onboarding solutions.

You will mentor engineers, help define the product roadmap, and push iterative improvements, including AI-powered enhancements, while thriving in a remote-first culture that values high-impact execution.

Qualifications

• Production Go experience is required.
• Strong ownership of API design and backend systems at scale.
• Experience aligning multiple engineering teams on standards and integration patterns.
• Ability to diagnose, recommend, and plan a path forward in ambiguity.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance without a management title.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments (Kubernetes, cloud provider APIs).
• Experience with entitlements, billing systems, or platform infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end from design to rollout and iteration.
• Design, build, and evolve backend Go services and REST/gRPC APIs.
• Serve as the technical interface between Customer Platform and other teams.
• Extend AI foundations into customer-facing product experiences.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
• Contribute to a product-driven roadmap with deadlines and outcomes.
