Job summary

Robinhood in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Staff Software Platform Engineer to design, build, and evolve a foundational cloud networking platform for large-scale services. You will focus on AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Istio and a secure, observable service mesh across multi-tenant environments.

You will lead platform standards, write automation in Python and Go, and collaborate with security and networking teams to deliver end-to-end, resilient networking capabilities while mentoring senior engineers on

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS networking fundamentals including VPCs, subnets, routing and security groups.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS EKS operations at scale.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/REST and gRPC protocols, performance and backward compatibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy for platform networking and service-to-service communication across multi-tenant EKS environments.
• Design and operate resilient Istio service mesh topologies with mTLS and traffic policies.
• Define platform standards for APIs, versioning, and performance baselines.
