Job summary

Robinhood in Bellevue, WA seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Capacity arm, owning the most complex systems and shaping engineering direction. You’ll build platforms that attribute cloud costs to real consumers and automate optimization of production infrastructure, reporting to senior leadership.

You will work with Data Science, Infrastructure, Finance, and product teams to forecast spend, drive cost efficiency, and align cost outcomes with business goals.

Qualifications

• Strong data engineering skills with distributed processing (e.g., Spark).
• Hands-on Kubernetes and cost-optimization experience.
• Familiarity with cloud billing data and cost models.
• Experience building automation that safely modifies production infra.
• Ability to translate infrastructure decisions into financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead capacity planning and demand forecasting for a latency-sensitive environment.
• Design scalable cost attribution and chargeback systems across teams.
• Architect anomaly detection and governance tooling for cost insights.
• Collaborate with Data Science to develop forecasting models and unit economics.
• Drive AWS contracts, pricing strategy, and discount models with vendors.
• Shape AI/ML infra spend governance and automate cost operations.
