Job summary

Worldpay is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Payrix Platform Engineering team. You will help design, build, operate, and improve a cloud-native platform that enables Payrix services to deliver payments at scale.

You will own platform foundations across AWS/EKS, implement IaC standards with Terraform and Pulumi, and drive CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions. You’ll mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce friction and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Senior Platform Engineer with hands-on cloud infrastructure and platform engineering experience.
• Strong production experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes (preferably EKS) including cluster ops, ingress, secrets, and deployments.
• In-depth IaC tooling experience with Terraform and Pulumi; familiarity with Terraform Cloud.
• Experience designing and improving CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions.
• Ability to build and evolve platform tooling, governance, and observability patterns.
• Experience in regulated environments (PCI-DSS, SOC 2) or payments is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and improve a cloud-native platform used across Payrix services.
• Define golden paths for services, including EKS, IaC, and observability.
• Automate repetitive tasks into documented, reusable workflows.
• Create platform docs, runbooks, and implementation guidance in Confluence and repos.
• Partner with engineering teams to enable self-service platform capabilities.
• Implement and operate AWS and EKS foundations across environments; manage clusters and security.
• Migrate from Jenkins to GitHub Actions and standardize cloud-native delivery patterns.
• Troubleshoot complex infra issues across AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and networking.
