Job summary

Apple Inc. in Seattle, WA, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to help build the platform layer underpinning Apple’s cloud services. You will design APIs and libraries used by other teams, define interfaces, and manage migrations.

This senior role spans design through production, collaborating with the area’s engineering leader to handle breadth and complexity while delivering reliable platform capabilities that scale globally.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience designing, implementing, and operating highly scalable distributed systems.
• Deep working experience with programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Go.
• Expertise in programming in concurrent and multi-threaded environments.
• Experience building platform software that other engineering teams depend on, including API design, versioning, and migration.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support the services, frameworks, and APIs that iCloud service teams build against.
• Define and version the interfaces other teams depend on, and own the migration path when they change.
• Partner with teams across iCloud to understand their systems and deliver what they need from the platform.
• Drive end-to-end project execution, from design reviews and through production releases.
• Deploy, scale, and maintain highly concurrent and throughput-intensive services.
• Triage, investigate, and remediate production and operational issues.
