Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Platform Engineer to develop and maintain our Application Hosting Infrastructure on Kubernetes in GCP. You’ll drive automation and security while building a robust platform for hosting internal apps.

You will design scalable infra, implement CI/CD, ensure security compliance, and collaborate across teams to improve usability and reduce cloud costs. A strong focus on performance and cost governance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Crossplane.
• 5+ years with cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of service mesh architectures such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security practices and tools.
• Experience with cost management tools for cloud infrastructure.
• Led cross-functional initiatives that improved platform usability and performance based on user feedback.
• Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable infrastructure solutions and IaC to automate processes.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and scalable build systems.
• Ensure security compliance and conduct CVE remediation with Infosec.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for platform improvements and provide internal user support.
• Analyze cloud spending and optimize costs.
