Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and maintain secure backend platform infrastructure and tooling. You will work on deployment, authentication, and API services, while building distributed systems for rapid product development.

The role emphasizes plugin architecture, cross-platform deployment pipelines, and proactive reliability efforts, including on-call rotations and incident reviews.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS/EE/ME.
• At least 1 year of experience as a software engineer.
• 12+ months experience with Python, Golang, TS/JS, SQL, Flask, Node.js/Express.js, PostgreSQL/MySQL, React.js, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and GCP, GitHub, OAuth 2.0, and Load Balancing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure backend platform infrastructure, abstractions, and tooling for deployment, auth, and API services.
• Build and optimize distributed systems enabling rapid app development and deployment.
• Architect plugin systems and extensibility frameworks for the platform.
• Create and maintain cross-platform desktop infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Design and implement robust authentication/authorization and testing strategies; evaluate and integrate auth solutions.
• Engage with external customers to collect feedback and identify improvements.
• Document platform features, APIs, and best practices for users.
• Implement observability with logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Monitor performance, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews; drive preventive measures.
