Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks a Lead Platform Engineer to drive build, configuration, and sustainment of a Software Factory for the US Space Force. You will lead Azure cloud and Kubernetes deployments, and implement DevSecOps tooling and automation across multiple environments.

Responsibilities include architecting CI/CD pipelines, configuring Jira/Confluence/GitLab, and guiding teams in DevSecOps practices while ensuring secure, scalable platforms. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

US citizenship required.
DoD Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS.
10+ years of DevOps/Cloud experience.
Experience with Linux-based operating systems.
CI/CD and DevOps practices proficiency.
Experience with Git version control.
Containerization and deployments for Kubernetes.
Kubernetes Storage via CSI (Azure/EBS).
Leadership for DevOps or cloud teams.
Strong communication and Agile/ALM familiarity.
DoD 8140 Certification / Security+.

Responsibilities

Architect and maintain IaC build, test, and CI/CD pipelines.
Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters in Azure cloud environments.
Deploy Jira, Confluence and GitLab to Azure VMs and Kubernetes clusters.
Develop automation for building VM-based IaC pipelines (Packer, Ansible, shell scripts).
Lead DevSecOps support to application teams and customers.
Serve as DevSecOps architect and coach to improve team performance.
Advise teams on DevSecOps practices and tooling adoption.
Oversee sustainment: monitoring, patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation for clusters and apps.
