Job summary

Canals is seeking a senior DevOps Engineer to build and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure in AWS. You’ll enhance CI/CD, automate provisioning with Terraform/Ansible, and shape observability across environments.

You’ll collaborate with backend teams to optimize performance, reliability, and deployment quality while supporting a remote-friendly, growth-oriented startup culture across the Americas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
• Strong AWS experience (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM).
• Proficient with CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Expertise in Docker and container orchestration (ECS or Kubernetes).
• Familiar with monitoring, alerting, and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
• Experience securing systems and managing secrets and network policies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS) to support Canals’ platform at scale.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines for faster, safer deployments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration with IaC tools.
• Develop and manage observability systems for logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Strengthen security posture across environments.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize performance and scalability.
• Own uptime and deployment quality as we scale.
