Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer in Boston to design, build, and operate a high-scale, event-driven backbone. You will craft primitives on Golang, Python, Pulsar, Kafka, and SQS in AWS/Kubernetes, building rock-solid, scalable systems with self-service APIs for product teams.

You’ll own multi-tenant queueing, observability, and reliability while mentoring engineers and contributing to on-call readiness in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on software development building and operating high-scale SaaS at pace.
• Experience owning full lifecycle of complex projects, with clear technical direction.
• Strong operational health ownership including performance, reliability, observability.
• Familiarity with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with asynchronous processing and queueing (SQS, Kafka, Pulsar).

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve multi-tenant queueing and processing platforms.
