Job summary

ModMed in Boca Raton, FL seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Platform Foundations team to build internal tooling and services for other engineers. You will design stable APIs, maintain a Java/Spring Boot microservice framework nicknamed Ragnarok, and mentor peers while driving architectural decisions with broad impact.

You will collaborate across teams, emphasize backward compatibility, documentation, and testing with TDD, and contribute to scalable, observable systems using AWS,

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

Own features/libraries end-to-end: design, implementation, documentation, and rollout.
Design APIs with backward compatibility and ergonomics.
Develop robust, scalable foundational services and maintain internal Java/Spring Boot framework (Ragnarok).
Debug across service boundaries and support teams consuming the framework.
Drive technical direction for foundational components with org-wide impact.
Mentor engineers and raise the bar in code reviews and tooling.
Build relationships across teams and explain tradeoffs to non-platform engineers.
Maintain a support mindset to unblock other engineers.
