Job summary

Bread Financial is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead design, development, and evolution of platform services, automation solutions, and cloud-native capabilities. You will drive reusable platform products, self-service capabilities, and intelligent automation while setting engineering standards across the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
1 cloud certification - AWS cloud practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or Google Cloud- Cloud Digital Leader
5-8 years of experience in platform engineering, software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, automation engineering, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

Define strategic direction for platform engineering capabilities and lead architecture of enterprise platforms.
Define enterprise automation strategies for the AI-driven development lifecycle and scale AI technologies enterprise-wide.
Define strategies for platform reliability, resilience, scalability, and performance including CI/CD, observability, and IaC.
Define platform-wide governance, security, compliance, and risk strategies with governance partners.
Provide technical leadership across platform engineering initiatives and mentor engineers.
Define and drive the developer experience vision across engineering platforms with self-service ecosystems.
Define the vision for AI-enabled engineering platforms and agent ecosystems and guide AI-native practices.
