Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Enterprise Information Systems team. You will design and deliver a scalable platform powering satellite design, manufacturing, and mission operations, collaborating with engineers, architects and senior stakeholders to implement our roadmap.

You will own deployment pipelines, AI-enabled development workflows, and observability standards, while guiding best practices, governance, and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 8+ years building distributed/platform systems.

Responsibilities

• Build self-service integration for AWS EKS functionalities and multi-tenant architecture.
• Develop consistent deployment processes for AI-assisted and standard apps.
• Promote AI adoption with secure, observable models.
• Establish AI guardrails and governance.
• Create golden-path platform features to accelerate go-live.
• Own long-term platform roadmap with AI capabilities.
• Harden traffic paths with chaos tests and automated remediation.
• Drive observability standards across environments.
• Provide docs and diagnostics to shorten support loops.
• Improve performance and cost efficiency across platforms.
• Mentor engineers and propagate platform adoption across teams.
• Enforce deployment practices and test hygiene.
