Job summary

K2 Space in Los Angeles is seeking a Platform Engineer to join the Enterprise Information Systems team and advance the digital backbone behind satellite design, manufacturing, and mission operations. You will develop deployment patterns on AWS EKS, enable secure AI-assisted workflows, and shape guardrails for reliable software delivery.

Bring 2+ years of experience with developer tooling, Go/TypeScript/Python/C#, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years building developer tooling, platforms, or deployment patterns.
• Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Hands-on experience deploying applications on Amazon EKS.
• Experience with CI/CD and disciplined Git workflows.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development and understanding its benefits and pitfalls.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain golden-path deployment patterns for Amazon EKS with guardrails for rapid production readiness.
• Drive secure, consistent AI adoption across software development including guardrails, governance, observability, and operational support for AI-assisted workflows.
• Build automated policies and CI/CD gates enforcing code quality and safe deployments.
• Integrate end-to-end monitoring, alerting, and SLOs into the platform.
• Track performance and cost, and act on anomalies.
• Write docs and diagnostics to shorten support loops.
• Run proofs of concept on new AI platforms and developer tools.
• Learn the manufacturing domain and simplify service identity and secure communication for platform users.
