Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Enterprise Information Systems team. You will design and deliver on a road-map, integrating AI capabilities and building a robust, scalable platform for satellite design, manufacturing, and mission operations.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of distributed systems experience, strong Kubernetes ownership, and proficiency in Go/TypeScript/Python. Expect a collaborative environment with senior stakeholders, architecture effort, and a focus

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience building and operating distributed/platform systems.
• Strong Kubernetes/EKS ownership and PoCs for new tech like AI platforms.
• Proficiency in at least one language (Go, TS, Python, C#) with disciplined SCM.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of observability, SLOs, and cost optimization.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development processes.

Responsibilities

• Build self-service integration for Amazon EKS and multi-tenant platform tooling.
• Lead platform roadmap including AI capabilities and observability.
• Ensure secure, scalable deployments with guardrails and governance.
• Mentor engineers and drive platform adoption across teams.
• Optimize performance and cost, implement chaos testing and resilience.
