Job summary

Sprig is hiring for a Platform Build Engineer to lead the next era of fast, reliable CI/CD and hermetic builds for a massive TypeScript/React/Go monorepo. You will reduce build times, make tests reliable, and create ephemeral environments per task to accelerate developer velocity.

You will join the Platform team at Sprig, a customer survey platform backed by top-tier VCs, and work across the JS/TS toolchain to enable agents and engineers to ship confidently in a high-scale environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years owning a monorepo build system at scale.
• Experience with Bazel or similar build systems.
• Hermeticity, sandboxing, and cache invalidation principles.

Responsibilities

• Modernize the JavaScript and TypeScript build: migrate to maintained Bazel modules and proper module linking.
• Cut CI time and cost by improving cache hit rates, incremental builds, and test parallelism.
• Make the build observable by shipping per-target timing telemetry and cost metrics.
• Make test automation a first-class developer experience across unit, integration, browser end-to-end, and visual tests.
• Move from long-lived environments to short-lived, isolated stacks per branch/task.
• Build the agent-ready development platform with hermetic, sandboxed environments and safe parallel execution.
