Job summary

Northrop Grumman is hiring a Platform Software Engineer to design, deploy, and operate a data platform across cloud services in Roy, Utah. The role emphasizes secure, scalable infrastructure with IaC, CI/CD, and containerized services.

You will collaborate with data engineering and science teams to onboard workloads, implement monitoring, and ensure platform reliability while adhering to security standards and Agile/DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Required: 5+ years with a BS in science; 3+ with MS; 1+ with PhD or equivalent experience.
• Experience deploying cloud-native infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with Terraform or similar automation frameworks.
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes concepts.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Strong scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, Go, PowerShell).
• Ability to diagnose issues across infra, networking, and application layers.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate the program data platform on modern cloud services.
• Implement and maintain IaC for Databricks workspaces, networking, storage, and security controls.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines for provisioning and validating platform components.
• Collaborate with data engineering/science to onboard workloads and standardize data patterns.
• Configure and support containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes) and integrate with orchestration tools.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and health checks to ensure platform reliability.
