Job summary

Alarm.com is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join the Platform team. You will mentor engineers, own design and deployment of large-scale applications, and collaborate across platforms to drive technical discovery and implementation.

You will work with product owners and stakeholders to align roadmaps, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to capacity planning and data strategy. Strong OO design and C#/.NET experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience leading/mentoring engineers with a track record of reusable solutions.
• Expertise in object-oriented programming; C# and .NET experience a plus.
• Software architecture experience.
• Production support (SRE experience a plus).
• Extensive observability experience with Datadog, Grafana, Wavefront, etc., and runbook support.
• Significant database design and development experience (SQL Server a plus).
• Capacity planning experience for both physical and cloud infra.

Responsibilities

• Mentor groups of junior, senior, and lead engineers.
• Develop software for a wide variety of platforms and technologies.
• Lead design of major software components, systems, and features as platform architect.
• Research, evaluate, and apply new technologies to solve problems.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to execute roadmaps.
• Participate in on-call rotations and production support.
• Assist in capacity planning and data strategy.
• Provide subject matter expertise across technical and product domains.
