Job summary

Alarm.com is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Access Control team to redefine security through a cloud-based platform. You will design, develop, and optimize robust access control solutions, mentor junior engineers, and lead cross-functional projects—from architecture to deployment—using the latest technologies.

You will collaborate with product managers and device engineers, shaping the future of security while delivering scalable, maintainable software across web and mobile

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills; experience with C#/.NET is a plus.
  • Experience with database design and development (SQL Server preferred).
  • Proficiency in developing backend services and APIs.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging technologies (Kafka is a plus).
  • Experience working with IoT, hardware, or embedded systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a culture of innovation by bringing new ideas and technical improvements to the table.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
