Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a senior software architect to lead the development of a unified HIL and SIL testing platform powering battery-management and energy-storage systems. You will drive architecture, build testbeds from requirements, and scale tooling across hardware and software teams.

You will design Python-based solutions, instrument device drivers for test hardware, and collaborate with Firmware, Electrical, Software, and Test teams to deliver scalable, maintainable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building HIL/SIL platforms or hardware-integrated test systems.
• Strong object-oriented design and software architecture fundamentals.
• Strong electrical engineering foundations.
• Ability to read schematics and debug hardware using lab equipment.
• Experience with embedded protocols such as CAN, SPI, and UART.
• Ability to lead platform architecture and work across multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect a unified platform for running tests across HIL and SIL environments.
• Build new HIL and SIL testbeds from requirements through implementation.
• Evaluate and select HIL/SIL tools and technologies.
• Develop scalable, maintainable Python software using object-oriented design.
• Design device drivers for precise control and communication with test hardware.
• Build intuitive interfaces for Firmware, Electrical, Software, and Test teams.
• Scale cloud infrastructure supporting SIL battery simulations.
• Integrate embedded protocols such as CAN, SPI, and UART.
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning software, electrical hardware, communications, and test infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and establish platform architecture and development standards.
