Job summary

San Diego Stealth Startup seeks a Senior Staff or Principal engineer to own the architecture of our internal platforms and cloud infrastructure. You will drive end-to-end technical choices across data, cloud, and operations, ensuring scalable, secure, and observable systems.

This role requires deep full-stack expertise and the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into shipped software, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with ops, finance, and lab leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-stack software engineering experience including senior/staff-level ownership of production systems.
• Deep hands-on experience with modern cloud infrastructure spanning architecture, deployment, cost, and reliability management.
• Full-stack programming across frontend (React), backend services, and data modeling (SQL/NoSQL) with git-based workflows and CI/CD.
• Track record of building internal tools or platforms from ambiguous requirements that have been deployed to production.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build internal platforms and tools used by operations, finance, and lab teams.
• Build robust cloud infrastructure with tooling for provisioning, cost, reliability, and security as data scales.
• Design data models and APIs connecting lab systems, business systems, and dashboards into an operational backbone.
• Set technical direction regarding architecture, code quality, CI/CD, testing, and observability across the eng org.
