Job summary

Stellarus Technology seeks a Senior Principal, Application Architecture to lead architecture decisions for distributed cloud-native platforms, microservices, and cross-domain initiatives. You will turn platform strategy into concrete designs that engineering teams can build, test, deploy, and operate.

This senior individual-contributor role emphasizes hands-on system design, vendor integration, and modernization decisions; experience with healthcare or regulated domains is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ years in lieu of a degree.
• 10+ years in software engineering or architecture.
• Experience leading architecture for distributed, cloud-native platforms.
• Hands-on ability to guide service design, API contracts, data modeling.
• Deep experience with domain-driven design and reusable platform patterns.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate strategy to execution.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven systems in the cloud.
• Healthcare, payer, pharma, or SOC 2/security domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture decisions for major platform capabilities and cross-domain initiatives.
• Drive build-vs-buy and modernization decisions across teams.
• Mentor senior engineers, architects, and leads; communicate clearly to stakeholders.
• Design for production, API contracts, data modeling, and security considerations.
• Collaborate with enterprise and product teams to align architecture with strategy.
