Job summary

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Architect to lead end-to-end solution delivery in Grand Rapids, MI. You will unify architecture governance with platform building, client delivery, and partner integrations while applying AI-assisted tooling to speed outcomes.

Responsibilities include designing scalable infrastructure, APIs, and data pipelines; guiding discovery and delivery tracks; and mentoring engineers across cloud-native stacks such as Java/Spring Boot,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of professional software development experience, with hands-on coding and prototyping in modern stacks.
• 5+ years designing cloud-native, microservices, or event-driven architectures (Azure or equivalent).
• Experience owning end-to-end solution delivery including design, implementation, and post-release accountability.
• Experience with partner integrations (payments, SaaS APIs, loyalty, inventory, or auth providers).
• Hands-on experience building prototypes or reference implementations to validate architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture across discovery, design, delivery, and operational readiness for platform and client solutions.
• Design and build new platform infrastructure to support evolving product requirements.
• Produce and maintain architectural artifacts (ADRs, contracts, data flow, infra specs).
• Define and enforce architecture standards, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements across all solutions.
• Write production code for critical platform features and infrastructure components.
• Mentor engineers on design practices, infrastructure patterns, and AI-assisted development.
