Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to provide advanced troubleshooting, production support, and operational ownership for critical enterprise platforms. This role will serve as a technical escalation point, partnering with vendors, infrastructure teams, networking, security, and business stakeholders to resolve complex issues and improve platform stability and reliability.

Responsibilities include triage and resolution of incidents, on-call rotation, and collaboration on security

Qualifications

• 7+ years of advanced production/platform troubleshooting experience.
• Strong SQL experience with MS SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server environments.
• Experience with cruise industry applications such as AMOS, Crunchtime, MXP or SeaCare.
• Strong networking fundamentals including data flows, connectivity, firewalls, ports, and troubleshooting.
• Experience coordinating with vendor-based/third-party enterprise applications.
• Experience with incident, problem, and change management.
• Strong communication across business, infrastructure, security, networking, and vendor teams.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Support infrastructure upgrades, platform enhancements, and technology roadmap initiatives.

Overview

Seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to provide advanced troubleshooting, production support, and operational ownership for critical enterprise technology platforms. This role will serve as a technical escalation point, partnering with vendors, infrastructure teams, networking, security, and business stakeholders to resolve complex issues and improve platform stability and reliability.

Must-Haves

• 7+ years of advanced production/platform troubleshooting experience, including root cause analysis and complex incident resolution.
• Strong SQL experience with the ability to write queries and work with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• Solid working knowledge of Windows Server environments.
• Experience with cruise industry applications, including AMOS, Crunchtime, MXP, or SeaCare.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including data flows, connectivity, firewalls, ports, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting vendor-based/third-party enterprise applications and coordinating technical issues with external vendors.
• Experience with incident, problem, and change management
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across business, infrastructure, security, networking, and vendor teams.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including after-hours support when required.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience supporting cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; AWS EC2 exposure is a plus.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices.
• Experience supporting highly regulated or operationally complex environments.
• Industry experience in areas such as transportation, logistics, healthcare, risk management, marine operations, or maintenance systems.
• Experience with applications such as AMOS, SeaCare, Crunchtime, or MXP.
