Kroger Manufacturing is seeking a MFG Plant Senior Project Engineering Leader in Layton, UT. The role directs engineering/maintenance to optimize equipment and facilities, focusing on Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Customer 1st initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in capital project development and management in the food industry.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and maintenance workforce management.
• Budget responsibility and understanding of federal regulations.
• Knowledge of Food Safety Principles, GMP, EPA and OSHA requirements.
• Strong attention to detail with high accuracy and precision.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking ability.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Ability to foster positive working relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering guidance and leadership at the plant level.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews.
• Lead 3-year capital plan development; manage bids, PO contracts and project funds.
• Recommend equipment/processing modifications or replacements.
• Stay updated on technology for plant operations.
• Develop, implement and control budgets.
• Maintain engineering records and drawings.
• Drive the maintenance process: predictive/preventative programs and parts inventory.
• Oversee training and development for maintenance/engineering staff.
• Lead energy management initiatives at plant/division level.
• Coordinate with OSHA, EPA and FDA to ensure compliance.
• Ensure food safety and quality per SQF 2000 systems.
• Support the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
• Perform essential functions with/without accommodation.
