Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Leader in Layton, UT to drive safe, reliable operations. You will lead maintenance planning, oversee PM programs, manage budgets, and coordinate with planning, inventory, and purchasing teams.

Expect to apply AutoCAD and CMMS to optimize overhauls and small capital projects, while advancing RCA-driven reliability initiatives. You will mentor a technical team, supervise direct reports, and ensure documentation, drawings, and process diagrams reflect

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering or equivalent technical manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience with direct reports.
• 2+ years of maintenance engineer experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills within a technical team.
• Experience with planning, scheduling, work order, inventory control, and purchasing in CMMS.
• RCA training or equivalent; led reliability-based RCAs with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in food processing and utilities systems; trouble-shooting expertise.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or other 3D modeling software; BPM, P&ID analysis.

Responsibilities

• Optimize the scope and timeline for equipment overhauls.
• Develop execution plans, manpower and schedules for overhauls and shutdown activities without supervision.
• Lead interactions with planning/scheduling, inventory control and maintenance purchasing teams on requirements for overhauls, repairs and small capital projects.
• Analyze current PM program condition and prioritize gaps.
• Manage the PM program for all equipment, buildings and facilities through CMMS.
• Oversee PM review process of critical assets and ROI of changes.
• Utilize AutoCAD to analyze P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams and facility layouts.
• Maintain equipment and facility documentation/drawings.
• Develop and track maintenance budgets; manage small capital project execution.
• Lead troubleshooting activities for the technical team.
• Oversee the storeroom inventory and parts availability; optimize storeroom cycle.
• Lead RCA process and document actions; drive reliability improvements.
• Drive DMAIC Kaizen initiatives and monitor maintenance KPI metrics.
