Job summary

LANXESS, a leading specialty chemicals company, is seeking an senior Operations leader for its Charleston plant. The role oversees daily execution, staffing, and prioritization across multiple units to ensure safe, reliable production and strong customer service.

You will drive operational excellence, lead a diverse team, and coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, and Supply Chain while upholding safety and quality objectives in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in chemical manufacturing with 5+ years in leadership roles overseeing production personnel.
• >10 years multi-unit operations in safety-critical, regulated environments (OSHA PSM).
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing Operations teams.
• Deep knowledge of chemical plant operations, troubleshooting and production planning.
• Strong collaboration with Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, Supply Chain and Quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily execution and performance of the Operations organization.
• Establish priorities and allocate resources to maintain safe and reliable plant operation.
• Ensure consistent standards, training, and performance expectations across production.
• Provide direct line management for Operations including personnel decisions per policy.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, and other functions to maximize plant reliability and customer service.
• Drive continuous improvement through RCA, operator development, and standardization.
