Job summary

CAMS is seeking a Senior Operations Supervisor at New Haven Harbor Station to lead day-to-day plant operations, ensure performance, and oversee start-up, shutdown, and maintenance activities. This shift-work leadership role requires directing plant personnel and serving as Incident Commander during emergencies.

The ideal candidate has extensive power generation experience, strong leadership, and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in power generation or industrial facility operations.
• Minimum 5 years as a qualified control room operator.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory and environmental requirements.
• Experience with work management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise plant operations staff (bargaining unit associates).
• Ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient plant operations.
• Oversee daily and outage-related work to maintain unit availability.
• Coordinate generating unit operations with external entities and grid operators.
• Maintain open communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Enforce corporate policies and operating procedures.
• Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to direct reports.
• Support maintenance activities as needed.
• Act as Incident Commander during plant emergencies.
