Job summary

New Haven Harbor Station is seeking a Senior Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day plant operations, ensure safety, reliability and regulatory compliance, and oversee start-up, shutdown, and maintenance on a 4-unit, 598-MW facility.

This shift-work leadership role requires strong supervision skills, incident command experience, and the ability to coordinate with grid operators and internal teams. Candidates should have 8+ years in power/industrial ops and 5+ years as a control room operator.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or technical degree preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in power generation or industrial facility operations.
• Minimum 5 years as a qualified control room operator.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory and environmental requirements.
• Experience with work management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise plant operations staff (bargaining unit associates).
• Ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient plant operations.
• Oversee daily and outage-related work to maintain unit availability.
• Coordinate generating unit operations with external entities and grid operators.
• Maintain open communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Enforce corporate policies and operating procedures.
• Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to direct reports.
• Support maintenance activities as needed.
• Act as Incident Commander during plant emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
