Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, you will direct plant activities, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Duro-Last’s Senior Plant Manager is an integral part of our manufacturing team. Reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing, the Senior Plant Manager provides daily direction to his/her plant, assists in policy development and implementation on manufacturing issues, ensures compliance with all internal and external regulations and ensures and open flow of communications between levels of the Corporation. While primarily focused on the needs of the designated facility, as a Senior Plant Manager, responsibilities may include oversight of Plant Managers at other remote locations.

The Senior Plant Manager identifies areas where Continuous Improvement activities will benefit the plant and/or Corporation as a whole. This position will oversee multiple manufacturing sites.

The Senior Plant Manager is responsible for the quality of the product while in the manufacturing process and at the time of shipment. They will work with associates within their plants, at other company locations and at Corporate headquarters to continually improve the quality of company products.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing small to medium sized operations, including significant experience as the senior manager on site.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Safety
  • Ensure all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with legal requirements and recommendations from the Corporate Safety Department.
  • Maintain an active Safety Committee, ensure meetings are held as scheduled, and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Quality
  • Implement standard work practices to ensure associates understand how to perform their jobs effectively and consistently.
  • Make quality a driving force throughout the operation, including product shipped to customers, customer paperwork and interactions, information provided to Corporate, shop-floor documentation, and computer transactions.
  • Track and report scrap in alignment with established Total Cost of Quality KPIs.
Customer Satisfaction & Service
  • Ensure product is shipped on time to customers.
  • Ensure product is properly contained, packaged, and shipped in good order.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and service when interacting directly with customers.
Inventory Accuracy
  • Maintain accountability for inventory accuracy across the plant.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are completed on time, accurately, and in accordance with Corporate and plant policies and procedures.
  • Immediately address inventory issues with appropriate Corporate personnel.
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
  • Complete Value Stream Maps for all applicable plant flows and update them at least twice annually.
  • Partner with the Corporate Materials Group to develop and utilize Kanban systems at appropriate points throughout the operation.
  • Implement and maintain 5S/6S practices throughout the operation, including systems to regularly review effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement Continuous Improvement opportunities that improve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and overall plant performance.
Metric Management
  • Develop and utilize a comprehensive metric management system to provide visibility into goals and objectives across HR, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and financial performance.
  • Utilize an SQDP Board system, including daily reviews by the Senior Plant Manager and leadership team.
  • Identify countermeasures and implement corrective actions when performance falls short of established goals, requesting Corporate support when needed.
Associate Development
  • Ensure employee performance reviews are completed on time and required certifications are maintained.
  • Track attendance and turnover in alignment with annual goals and objectives.
  • Identify high-potential (HiPo) employees and develop growth plans in partnership with Corporate HR.
  • Establish and maintain succession plans for the management team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, development, and retention.
Business Acumen & Financial Leadership
  • P&L Ownership & Cost Control: Direct and manage full facility P&L performance, implementing disciplined cost-control measures across custom PVC fabrication lines and distribution workflows to optimize Gross Margin and EBITDA targets.
  • Yield Optimization & Waste Management: Apply financial and data analysis to track, control, and reduce scrap material costs, aligning facility operations with Duro-Last’s zero-waste and closed-loop PVC recycling objectives, including maximizing the value of edge trim and off-spec scrap.
  • Regional Supply Chain & Contractor Service Metrics: Oversee Dallas-hub inventory and freight logistics to optimize working capital while maintaining strong On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance for regional direct-to-contractor networks.
  • Capital Allocation & Capacity Planning: Develop and justify data-backed Capital Expenditure (CapEx) proposals for automated fabrication, specialized extrusion, and roll-conversion machinery to expand facility capacity in response to the growing Texas commercial roofing market.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 4 years as a Plant Manager and 3 years as the senior executive on site.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; an MBA or other master’s degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing, metric management, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience applying Continuous Improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies, with a demonstrated track record of results.
  • Prior full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility.
  • Proven experience leading manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated employee development, engagement, and retention experience.
  • Effective leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build strong, accountable teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • A team-oriented approach and willingness to work in a hands‑on manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent PC skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Mapics or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is preferred.
  • Positive attitude, sound judgment, strong sense of responsibility and ownership, loyalty, and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including the experience and personal integrity necessary to set a high standard for performance and ethics across the plant.
Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
