Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• Five years of experience in building inspection, plan examination or related field.
• Must obtain NM CID Building Inspector certification within 3 months, ICC plan review within 1 year, and ICC Inspector certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Review residential, commercial, and industrial plans for code compliance and accessibility.
• Provide guidance to the public, contractors, and staff on codes and plan reviews.
• Perform inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, codes, and ordinances.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and document inspection results.
• Coordinate with county departments and external agencies during development review and inspections.
