Job summary

Santa Fe County seeks a senior planning professional to lead a range of planning projects under the Planning Manager. This role oversees the team, formulates strategies, ordinances, agreements, legislation, programs and policies, and ensures high-quality deliverables.

You will supervise staff, provide training, review work, and guide performance evaluations while driving best practices and coordinating with other departments.

Qualifications

• Senior level planning position leading on multiple projects.
• Supervises staff and provides instruction to employees.
• Plans and assigns work; evaluates and approves/disapproves leave requests.
• Recommends hiring of new employees and disciplinary action.
• Provides feedback and completes performance evaluations for employees.
• Oversees all aspects of planning for the team.
• Provides training and technical support to lower-level planners.
• Researches best practices and applies them to team processes.
