Job summary

Metro Water Recovery in Denver, Colorado seeks a Senior Planning Engineering Manager to provide strategic leadership for the Planning Engineering Division and to shape long-range infrastructure strategies for wastewater treatment and transmission facilities.

You will lead complex planning initiatives, oversee capital investment recommendations, and balance operational, regulatory, financial, and risk considerations to support Metro’s goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Colorado PE license required; reciprocity with other states acceptable per CO requirements.
• Experience leading planning for wastewater treatment and transmission facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead long-range facility planning studies and capacity analyses.
• Oversee Capital Expenditure Schedule development and prioritization.
• Manage contracts for engineering activities and oversee consultant work.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, and leadership across Metro.
• Develop and mentor planning staff; support succession planning.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and alignment with Metro’s objectives.
