Job summary

L’Oréal USA in Florence, Kentucky seeks a Senior Planner for Raw Material Planning to own end-to-end procurement for the plant portfolio. You will work cross-functionally with Sourcing, suppliers and production units to ensure timely material availability and on-time delivery.

The role requires 2–5 years in manufacturing or supply planning, preferably cosmetics, with SAP experience and advanced Excel skills. Strong communication and analytical abilities are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business/engineering or supply chain preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in a high-performance manufacturing facility or supply planning environment, cosmetics experience preferred.
• SAP experience preferred; Advanced Excel recommended (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage flow of raw materials from vendors to manufacturing operations or sub-contractors.
• Routinely analyze state of raw material inventory and prioritize; escalate risks to appropriate teams.
• Manage raw material inventory stored at offsite locations; rotate inventory to maintain stock for production.
• Review and update supply planning parameters; create and monitor reports for inventory and deliveries.
• Identify upcoming expired materials and resolve rejected or obsolete materials or bulk products.
• Mitigate short-term production risks by escalating, reprioritizing flows, and quick problem solving with suppliers.
• Lead monthly at-risk meetings and align with cross-functional teams on risk mitigation plans.
• Manage relationships with raw material suppliers and monitor their KPIs; address concerns blocking execution.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for the end-to-end planning & execution of Raw Material procurement for their specific catalog in the Florence plant. This role gives an exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally within the plant while also managing an external supplier base. You will be responsible for your specific portfolio’s monthly procurement cycle (MSS) and for ensuring that commitments are met & are delivered on time & in full. This role provides a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on production results in Florence and an exciting scope to partner with several cross-functional teams, including Sourcing, Raw Material suppliers & the production units in the plant.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Coordinate and manage flow of raw materials from vendors to manufacturing operations or sub-contractors. Collaborate with Sourcing and Suppliers to support plant requirements.


• Routinely analyze state of raw material inventory and priorities. Proactively identify and escal**t** alerts to appropriate teams in a timely manner and resolve production plan risks.


• Manage raw material inventory stored at offsite locations. Rotate inventory and ensure sufficient stock is maintained at plant to prevent disruption of pre-weigh/production.


• Review and update supply planning parameters. Create and monitor reports to ensure appropriate progress of inventory levels and deliveries.


• Identify and take appropriate action on upcoming expired material. Initiate and follow up on resolution of rejected or obsolete raw materials or bulk product .


• Responsible for mitigating short-term risks as seen in production, which may include escalation, reprioritizing with flows, and quick problem solving with suppliers to ensure material is ready to meet needs.


• Lead monthly at-risk meetings and align with cross-functional supply chain & production teams on what risks exist & plans to mitigate.


• Manage relationships with raw material suppliers, monitor their KPIs, and proactively address concerns that block successful execution.


• Assist in identification and reconciliation of inventory and/or invoice discrepancies.


• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business/engineering or supply chain discipline preferred


• Experience: 2-5 years of previous experience in a high-performance manufacturing facility or supply planning scope - cosmetics industry preferred.


• SAP experience preferred


• Advanced Excel strongly recommended (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)


• Must have strong written/verbal communication and analytical skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously; manage change, provide program management, and achieve results.


• Proven ability to develop short- and long-range plans that meet established objectives and contribute to the overall goals and mission of the company.


• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to consolidate, present information and interface with plant and corporate personnel at various organizational levels.
