Job summary

Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group in Idaho is seeking a Senior Planner to join our growing Planning team, guiding community and regional projects from comprehensive plans to zoning rewrites and development proposals.

You will lead public outreach, manage complex land-use assignments, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients and agencies to deliver clear, actionable planning documents that shape growth and community outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in planning or related field.
6+ years of relevant professional experience.
Knowledge of Idaho Local Land Use Planning Act and related statutes.
NEPA knowledge preferred but not required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage projects and staff and build client relationships.

Responsibilities

Develop, update, and implement comprehensive plans, zoning rewrites, neighborhood studies, specific area plans, facilities plan, and other planning programs.
Lead public outreach, workshops, and stakeholder meetings to gather community input.
Prepare staff reports and present findings to boards and elected officials.
Review and process complex development proposals, including rezonings, site plans, subdivisions, and planned communities.
Monitor and lead preparation of proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates for planning projects.
Provide oversight to a team of professionals in community planning projects and client liaison responsibilities.
Manage project budgets and timelines, and identify opportunities to grow billable work.
