Job summary

CSG Consultants, Inc. seeks a Senior Plan Check Engineer to perform technical review of construction documents for residential, multi-family, and commercial projects in California, ensuring conformance with California Building Standards Codes and Reference Standards.

You will apply engineering judgment for life-safety and structural assessments and supervise plan check engineers. The role requires a PE license in California, a relevant engineering degree, and ICC or CASp certifications, along

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Possession of a current PE California License is required.
• ICC Building, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing Plans Examiner Certification or CASp Certification, as required for this role.
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam & Bluebeam Studios, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc., to perform job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of California Building Standards Codes and Referenced Standards.
• Responsible for the technical review of construction documents related to residential, multi-family, and commercial construction.
• Review drawings, calculations, soils reports and other documents for conformance with the requirements of the California Building Standards Codes and Reference Standards.
• Use engineering judgment to assess the adequacy of a design for life-safety and structural review.
• Supervise Plan Check Engineers and prepare formal reports.
• Develop understanding of electronic plan check submittals and related software tools.
