Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced piping engineer to lead the analysis of high-pressure and cryogenic piping systems for launch facilities. You will own analyses through the full design lifecycle, mentor junior engineers, and drive adherence to ASME B31.3 criteria and internal standards.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree and 7+ years in a technical engineering role with hands-on piping analysis and tools such as AutoPIPE, AutoCAD, Creo, and ANSYS.

Qualifications

  • Four-year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (or similar).
  • 7+ years in a technical engineering role with progressive responsibility.
  • Extensive piping stress analysis experience using AutoPIPE; technical reviewer for others.
  • Experience leading and mentoring others in piping analysis tools.
  • Deep knowledge of ASME B31.3 design criteria for piping stress.
  • Ability to build trust and foster an inclusive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for piping and tubing analyses for launch facilities.
  • Develop and maintain piping analyses through the full design lifecycle.
  • Define analysis standards, methods, and best practices for piping analysis.
  • Lead peer reviews and communicate findings to stakeholders for acceptance.
  • Mentor junior engineers in piping tools, results interpretation, and codes.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure designs meet cost, schedule and tech needs.
  • Identify and resolve complex piping-related risks across projects.
