Job summary

Aecon Engineering Services Inc. in Newport, MI is seeking a Designer, Piping to design medium to complex piping systems for nuclear and power generation projects.

Based at Newport Michigan, you will develop P&ID, GA, equipment plans, and isometrics using 2D/3D tools. The role requires a technical piping design background, 10+ years in powerplant piping, and proficiency with Plant3D, P&ID, AutoCAD, and Bentley MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in piping design (technical field) or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience beyond associate degree in powerplant piping and support design.
• Proficiency with AutoDesk Plant3D, P&ID and AutoCAD.
• Proficient with Bentley MicroStation

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, design medium to complex mechanical / piping systems using 2D and 3D design tools.
• Design development processes and prepare drawings per project specifications and discipline instructions.
• Develop piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), GA drawings, equipment plans, and isometric drawings.
• Understand and apply the engineer’s design development process.
• Review vendor documents for accuracy and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Coordinate mechanical / piping design activities with other teams.
