Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a qualified Mechanical/Piping Designer to perform complete designs of mechanical and piping assignments under supervision at our LaPlace, LA facility. This role requires an Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD and 4+ years of relevant experience.

You will draft piping drawings from P&ID's and GA's, perform field design work, and prepare material take-offs. Collaboration with project teams and on-site startup support are essential components of the role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD required.
• 4+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.
• Knowledge of piping materials, piping supports, and restraints.
• Experience with 2D AutoCAD and Microstation.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical/piping designs and drawings from P&IDs and GA's.
• Perform field design activities to assess conditions and locate new systems.
• Prepare material take-offs from piping drawings.
• Plan and manage site design activities to optimize results.
• Provide on-site support during startup and communicate design changes promptly.
