Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Piping Design to support CNS and Mission Engineering efforts at the Y-12 National Security Complex, with hybrid work flexibility.

You will provide full time piping design support for Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities, including design output documents, pipe stress analysis, and ASME B31.3/B31.1 compliance, while interfacing with multiple disciplines in a nuclear-regulated environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain clearance.
• Experience with ASME B31.3/B31.1 and pipe stress analysis.
• Field walkdowns in nuclear-regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide piping design output documents (drawings, data sheets, specs).
• Perform pipe stress analysis.
• Develop designs per ASME B31.3/B31.1.
• Collaborate with multiple disciplines and facilities.
• Support Conduct of Engineering in a nuclear setting.
