Job summary

Sunoco LP in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced Pipeline and Terminal Operations Specialist responsible for all pipeline movements within assigned areas and operation of associated stations. The role requires extensive field experience, knowledge of petroleum products, regulatory compliance, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8 minimum years of pipeline and/or terminal experience required.
• Technical knowledge of equipment, mechanical knowledge, and field experience.
• Knowledge of petroleum products and industry terminology.
• Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products.
• Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under stress and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to use data trends to recommend actions affecting operations.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct the operations and maintenance of assigned facility.
• Coordinate and inspect construction of new and the modification of existing facilities.
• Provide operational input.
• Stay updated on pertinent government regulations and operate within their scope.
• Examine daily/hourly reports on crude oil and product movement and storage of P/L and stations.
• Provide emergency help and assistance to other areas when required.
• Oversees or performs inspections of the terminal, including OFF-Hours security inspections.
• Update and maintain the TMS system.
• On call 24 Hrs. Seven days a week.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Reduce potential risk to public safety and environment and minimize company liability.
• Improve operations efficiency and financial profitability through well maintained facilities.
