Job summary

Tetra Tech invites applications for a Mid-Senior Pipeline and Facilities Design Engineer to support pipeline, pump station, and terminal/tank projects across Englewood, CO; Billings, MT; or Casper, WY. You will contribute to PFD/P&ID development, hydraulic calculations, and 3D design across greenfield and brownfield sites.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• FE exam completed preferred.
• PE licensure preferred, or willingness to attain.
• NCEES record preferred.
• Experience in Midstream Oil & Gas industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of ASME B31.4, B31.8 and CFR 192/195 standards.
• Experience coordinating with client stakeholders and SME's.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel for on-site data gathering or meetings.
• Experience with hydraulic modelling preferred.
• Experience with pipe stress modelling preferred.
• Experience with AutoDesk or similar 3D design platforms preferred.
• Experience with scheduling and cost-estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under general direction of the project lead.
• Communicates and coordinates with client leads and/or project manager.
• Reviews technical matters and plans project scope, schedule and cost.
• Assigns and reviews work of junior engineers and staff.
• Makes decisions on technical matters related to project scope and costs.
• Supports project needs across multiple time zones.
• Develops improvements in design standards and workflows.
• Pipes routing and overall facility site layout.
• PFD and P&ID development.
• Prepare design drawings at 30%, 60%, 90%, IFB/IFC stages.
• Hydraulic calculations and MAOP calculations.
• Develop detailed designs of pipelines and facilities.
• Brownfield upgrades and greenfield projects.
• Field data gathering and investigations.
• Oversees equipment specification and sizing.
• Lead/design reviews with internal and client teams.
• Develop scopes of work and bid packages.
• Coordinate procurement activities and vendor responses.
• Incorporate compliance and permitting inputs.
• TIC cost estimating and scheduling.
