Job summary

SC Johnson seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and install piping, pumps and valves across production and facilities systems. You will follow preventive maintenance plans, document work in CMMS, and respond to equipment breakdowns.

The role requires strong pipefitting and welding skills, knowledge of steam, condensate, water, and sewer systems, plus adherence to safety procedures. Teamwork and problem-solving are essential in a dynamic plant setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6–8 years of related field experience.
• State welding structural certifications.
• Experience in repair maintenance of steam & condensate systems.
• Experience in repair maintenance of facility water & sewer systems.
• Experience in cutting, threading, and fitting pipe to specifications.
• Experience in assembling and securing pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment.
• Experience in attaching pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures.
• Experience in inspecting, examining, and testing installed systems and pipelines.
• Knowledge of pipe sizes/types and supports.
• Experience installing automatic controls for pipe systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and install piping, pumps and valves.
• Follow Preventive Maintenance plans.
• Document planned and unplanned work findings via CMMS.
• Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns.
• Comply with safety procedures (Lock-Out-Tag-Out; Arc Flash; Hot Work Permits).
• Work independently and with teams, participate in meetings and problem solving.
• Communicate with internal contacts to exchange information.
• Handle physical tasks including lifting, climbing stairs/ladders, and working in confined spaces.
