Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Journeyman Pipefitter to support fabrication, installation, testing, and maintenance of piping systems for water, chemicals, and fuel. Work from blueprints to build reliable systems with a strong emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

You will perform shop-oriented fabrication and field support, including fit-up, welding, testing, and coordination with other trades to keep projects moving on schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Journeyman Pipefitter.
• Experience reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Ability to measure, cut, thread, fit up, weld, and install piping systems and components.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate piping systems and components for water, chemical, fuel, and hydronic applications.
• Build and tack piping and equipment supports, brackets, and guides.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
• Measure, cut, thread, fit up, weld, and tack piping sections and welded joints using hand and power tools.
• Install supports, valves, piping, and related components.
• Repair plumbing systems and hydronic heating systems, including filter changes on hydronic heating systems, control air, and air-handling units.
• Test systems for leaks using appropriate testing equipment.
