Job summary

Enbridge is seeking a Regular-Full time employee in the Durham, NC area to construct, maintain, and operate the natural gas distribution system. The role includes installing gas pipe, locating utilities, testing lines, and responding to emergencies.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 6–12 months of construction/utility experience, and a valid driver's license; CDL is strongly preferred or obtainable within 12 months. Safety training and on-call work are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6–12 months construction/utility experience recommended.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• CDL preferred or ability to obtain CDL within 12 months.
• Follow safety policies and wear SCBA as required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel and be on-call for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Install natural gas pipe in ditches.
• Manually dig around utilities.
• Pressure test steel and plastic natural gas lines.
• Repair third-party damage and gas leaks.
• Locate natural gas lines and facilities.
• Perform pipe maintenance activities.
• Install test charts.
• Set up DOT-approved work sites.
• Flag traffic safely.
• Safely drive company vehicle.
• Meet Operator Qualifications annually (written and hands-on).
