Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a Billing/Collections professional in Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will perform billing, patient accounting, financial counseling, and collections to ensure accurate reimbursement and steady cash flow.

Responsibilities include front-end and back-end duties, travel to Central Billing Office as needed, and coordination with international patients. Requires at least 1 year of related experience and strong English communication; Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience.
• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison on matters related to billing.
• Provides solutions to patients/families and assists with billing follow-up.
• Obtains payer authorization for interventional procedures and monitoring as needed.
• Responsible for physicians’ billing process to ensure timely and accurate billing.
• Gathers billing documents and reviews CPT/ICD codes for accuracy.
• Matches billing with patient demographics and sends to billing entity.
• Prepares quotes for the international department for patients coming from abroad.
• Provides administrative support and assists leaders as needed.
• Keeps up-to-date with changes to insurance cards and payer requirements to expedite reimbursement.
• Performs financial counseling, collection and related payment functions.
