Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Primary Care Clinic in Eastlake, providing new patient intake and in-basket support for our physicians. You will deliver same-day care for common conditions, support wellness exams, and participate in population health initiatives to improve access and quality of care.

The role demands ARC-PA approved PA training, a CA PA license, NCCPA certification, BLS at hire with plan to obtain BART, and at least 3 years of primary care

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program.
• California Physician Assistant license.
• Current PA Certification from NCCPA.
• BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• Minimum of three (3) years of work experience as a licensed PA in primary care or internal medicine.
• Ability to perform initial history and physical examination, identify major medical problems, and formulate appropriate plans of action.
• Ability to manage own patient load.
• Knowledge of common diagnostic tests, exams, and procedures used in clinic; understand supplies/equipment and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Provide 80% clinical and 20% administrative duties within UCSD Primary Care team.
• Perform same-day care for common conditions (URIs, throat infections, ear infections, UTIs, minor injuries).
• Support primary care services through annual wellness exams, post-hospital follow-ups, and population health initiatives.
