Job summary

University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Primary Care team at the Eastlake clinic, with an 80% clinical and 20% administrative split. You will handle new patient intake and in-basket support for primary care physicians, delivering same-day care for common conditions and supporting wellness exams.

The role involves adherence to standardized practice guidelines, with opportunities to participate in population health initiatives and care plan

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an ARC-PA approved PA program.
• California PA license is required.
• Current PA Certification from NCCPA.
• BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire.
• Minimum of three (3) years of work experience as a licensed PA in primary care or internal medicine.
• Ability to conduct history and physical exams and formulate care plans.
• Ability to manage own patient load.
• Knowledge of diagnostic tests, examinations, and clinic procedures; infection control and charting.

Responsibilities

• Perform new patient intake and in-basket support for Primary Care Physicians.
• Provide same-day care for common conditions (URIs, sore throats, UTIs, minor injuries).
• Support primary care services via annual wellness exams, post-hospital follow-ups, and population health initiatives.
• Follow standardized advanced practice guidelines for care plans and actions.
• May work at Eastlake Primary Care Clinic and other locations as needed.
