Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System seeks a qualified anesthesiologist. The physician will administer anesthesia, monitor intraoperative status, and manage anesthesia plans from induction to emergence.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required
• MD or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US
• Residency training in anesthesiology approved by ACGME/AOA
• Board eligibility or certification in anesthesia
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia to patients during surgery or procedures.
• Provide continuous monitoring of patient response to anesthetic agents and support preservation of airway.
• Develop and execute anesthetic plans including regional or general techniques; manage induction, maintenance and emergence.
• Manage postoperative pain and monitor for adverse events; document anesthesia care and ensure patient safety.
