Job summary

Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey seeks a strategic leader to serve as Chief Physician Advisor. This 100% administrative role reports to the CMO and focuses on care progression, documentation integrity, and utilization management to optimize hospital performance.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years hospital-based clinical leadership experience.
MD or DO license in New Jersey.
Expertise in Utilization Management, Clinical Documentation Integrity, or Case Management.
Strong knowledge of CMS regulations (including the Two-Midnight Rule).

Responsibilities

Provide Senior Leadership: act as primary advisor to the CMO and oversee the Physician Advisor team and Utilization Review.
Drive Clinical & Financial Optimization: oversee UM, CDI, and denial prevention to improve throughput and reimbursement.
Innovate with Technology: champion Epic dashboards, predictive analytics, and AI-enabled tools to enhance documentation and coding accuracy.
Lead and Educate: develop education programs for medical staff, residents, and APPs keeping compliance and documentation excellence in focus.
